The course focuses on the methodology of strengthening different types of strength. Students will gain knowledge about safety during strengthening, warming up before strength training, about prevention of health problems by appropriate strength training. In practice, examples of individual force methods are discussed. Strengthening is focused on basic free weights exercises used in sports such as athletics and sports games. Individual lessons discuss the stimulation of strength to large muscle groups and torso.
Aim of the course -
Last update: Mgr. Vladimír Hojka, Ph.D. (08.11.2023)

By completing the module the student will acquire the following skills and competences:

The student will be able to apply appropriate methods in the development of specific speed (including agility) and endurance abilities and design a training programme for their development.

The student applies knowledge of biomechanics to the training of individual running, jumping and throwing exercises.

The student knows how to use athletic resources in the development of fitness.

The student demonstrates a basic level of fitness in all its components.

The student understands the development of specific strength abilities and can apply this to the development of a specific training program

The student is able to apply knowledge of exercise physiology and adaptations, biomechanics to issues of strength training and is able to apply this knowledge in the development of a training program

The student knows the methodological series of training individual strengthening exercises, can demonstrate partial exercises in the form of a demonstration and can identify basic errors in the execution of the technique of these exercises

The student applies knowledge and skills from the subjects of strengthening and fitness athletics in the creation of his/her own training units.

The student constructs training units for specific groups of people and manages to implement them in terms of organisation and content.

The student applies knowledge of pedagogy and didactics; the student has developed his/her pedagogical competences so that he/she can lead a training unit.
