Course contains basics of kinetics and dynamics of human movement, introduction to mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetic and acustic spectrum, electricity and magnetism, fluids, optics and the effects on human body. This course is a fundamental for subject Biophysics and Biomechanics II in following semester, when students apply received knowledges on human body.
Aim of the course -
Last update: doc. Ing. Monika Šorfová, Ph.D. (27.09.2023)

The aim of the subject is set up common level of biophysics knowledge for students coming from different study systems and environments, necessary in performing independent work of a physiotherapist. Some findings will be used to explain the basic principles of biomechanics of the human moving system.

Skills

  • Calculates the body's center of gravity and determines its moment of inertia. He is able to use this information to analyze the movement of people
  • It describes and assesses the behavior of various tissues of the locomotor system in the basic features of the mechanics of flexible bodies
  • Distinguish and justify what kind of movement a body performs with respect to another body
  • can calculate the instantaneous and average values of kinematic quantities of other kinematic quantities for sliding (including movement along a curve) and rotating movement
  • Assesses the degrees of freedom of the body system within the lower and upper limbs and the axial system
  • Formulates the consequences of Newton's laws and uses them in predicting changes in body movement in practical situations.

Competence

  • will assess the selection of appropriate methods and procedures for processing data from basic analytical and investigative and therapeutic methods of the locomotor system
