The course aims at exploring the suprasegmental features of English sound system, particularly the functioning of word stress, rhythm and intonation. Apart from that, phonemic transcription and stress placement will remain the focus of our practice. The perception and production of selected pronunciation features will be part of training, too.

Kurz je zaměřen na popis suprasegmentálních jevů zvukového systému standardní angličtiny, zejména slovního přízvuku, rytmu a intonace. Výslovnostní trénink zahrnuje transkripci souvislého textu včetně vyznačování hlavních přízvuků, používání slabých forem gramatických slov a prostředků vázání. Vybrané výslovnostní jevy jsou procvičovány percepčně a produkčně.
