The course acquaints students with other possibilities of working with clay and expands the already acquired knowledge of the ceramic craft. The methodology of teaching ceramics is designed in time blocks. Students will get acquainted with the possibilities of final decoration of ceramics. The aim and focus of the course is to expand basic knowledge and mastery of technological procedures in the construction of a container (teapot) from plates, acquaintance with the old Japanese technique of building a container according to the template and centering by tapping with a stick. Students will learn to make a template, carve clay slabs, combine components into a whole using a clipper. They will acquire awareness of the technological possibilities of clay. On their own product-container, they will try the possibilities of decorating using metal oxides, engobes and glazes. Students will learn to operate the furnace, they will get acquainted with the types of firing. Seminar content: acquaintance with the topic of the assignment. Students work on the task individually. A study of ancient Japanese vessel construction techniques, taking into account functionality. Preparation of templates and aids. Plate rolling, container body construction. Students learn about the properties of clay (load capacity) on the basis of practical activities. Fundamentals of technology - composition of clay (plastic part, slag, flux). Introduction to the technological process of merging the body of the container with the components of the ear, mouthpiece and lid. Detail modeling. Decorating manufactured container oxides. Glaze spraying using covered surfaces with peeling latex, or glaze painting with a brush.
