In this course, we are going to explore some basic ways of using dramatic playing, performance, and storytelling in the language classroom. Through short theoretical presentations based on your reading, we are going to extend our awareness of the performative approach to language learning and teaching, its theoretical framework, history, and current development. As writers, performers, directors, and above all as teachers, we are going to submerge in the magic world of "as if" and see what learning opportunities it may offer to young learners. We will also prepare and realise a simulation of an English-speaking town at a primary school.
