This course mainly intends to lead the students towards reading books for children and young adults and employing in ESL classes. While trying to answer the question concerning the origins and qualities typical of literary works classified as English-written children’s literature, the course introduces history and individual genres of children’s literature written in English through a number of various activities, games and plays.

1.Anglicky psaná literatura pro děti a mládež ve výuce anglického jazyka – specifičnost literatury, literatura pro děti a mládež, její úloha a možné využití ve výuce cizího jazyka.

2.Problematika čtení literárních textů – orientace na čtenáře a možnosti recepční teorie s ohledem na četbu textů této literatury v rámci výuky anglického jazyka.

3.Historie a vývoj anglicky psané literatury pro děti a mládež.

4.Žánry anglicky psané literatury pro děti a mládež.

5.Aktivity rozvíjející základní řečové dovednosti žáka (čtení, psaní, mluvení a poslech), které využívají texty této literatury.
