In the context of exploring social conditions in historical stages the special consideration to the socio-political circumstances that played a role in earmarking or in supporting individuals with disability is put on course. The subject points to the effort of many predecessors, teachers, philosophers and doctors who have deserved new knowledge in the field of health and eduction. The themes will be directed towards reflecting changes in the understanding of otherness within educational system in the Czech country in the recent past. The subject is focused on the totalitarian period in Czechoslovakia and the comprehension of the various aspects influencing the understanding of otherness in the non-free regime. Attention is paid to the ethics of difference in the changed conditions of socialist education and the role of special pedagogue during the totalitarian regime and in the socialist school. The content of subject will focus also on the field of perception of the overall ethical adjustment of the contemporary society or knowledge how the striving for social equality, human rights and inclusion has been projected into competencies future teachers. It is impossible to overcome the question of whether individuals with disability feel a self-evident, respected and distinct part of society.

The aim of the subject is to expand knowledge of the diverse social aspects that lead to an understanding of the otherness of individuals in the past and present. Further to reflect changing conditions for common education with special regard to opinions on the otherness of the historical stage.

2.      Conception of an individuals with disability, a historical perspective, a reflection of social change and social context.

3.      Attempts to periodize care for individuals with disability, socialization from a historical point of view.

4.      The rise of education of individuals with disability, the process of integration and inclusion.

5.      Development of institutionalized care and federal activity for the benefit of the individuals with disability.

6.      Priorities in the work of františek čáda, josef zeman and their followers.

7.      Totalitarian regimes and otherness.

8.      Contemporary views on the perception of otherness.

9.      Reflection of otherness in inclusive school.

Writing an essay on a subject related to the research interests of the participant and discussion over the basics of the essay and processing its conclusions.
