Relationships of arts and visual culture to culture, civilization and nature. Anthropological and philosophical concepts of culture and art in the 21st century. Culture and art as a way of consciousness and as a preservation of consciousness. Kinds, types and genres of art. Art, junk and kitsch and their place in culture. The beginnings and the first form of fine arts. Ancient civilizations. Art and education, position, functions and possibilities of art in education. Orientation in the range of possibilities that art and visual culture offers for study. Forming students' own, active approach to topics from art history and the contemporary art scene, searching for connections between art history and contemporary visual culture.

3. The position of art in human culture, types of art; art, junk, kitsch. Kinds, types and genres of fine arts.
4. Art and education, position, functions and possibilities of art in education.
5. The beginnings and the first form of fine arts in prehistory.
6. Ancient civilizations and their reflections in contemporary art and culture.
7. Art culture of Egypt, Crete and Mycenae.
8. Art culture of archaic and classical Greece.
9. Art culture of Hellenism.
10. Art culture of Rome. Celts.
11. Art culture of late Rome and early Christianity.
12. Art culture of Byzantium.
