The course builds on the Photography Studio I and deepens students' theoretical knowledge and craftsmanship in the field of photography. It introduces the medium of photography into a broader societal context and presents current currents of thinking about photography. The image is seen as a policy that serves certain purposes and influences. Thus, it is not only the style and verified authorities that are reflected, but also the contextual situation of the way photographs are observed, created, displayed and disseminated. Students are guided to decode this speech and understand the background of visual styles. Across the semester, there is a central theme to which the author's cycle of photographs is linked. Reflexive and educational moments that lead to self-awareness and which can be applied to school teaching and education for visual literacy and social responsibility are emphasized in the formation of one's own expression. The introductory meeting, the context of the semester topic. Use of photographic media in the school environment. The educational dimension of the semester topic. Photography as a tool of reflection. Deepening the possibilities of authorial expression. Comparison of methods and styles. The social, political and non-artistic dimensions of photography. An image like power. Gender aspects of photography. Individual consultation of creative outputs. Ongoing joint discussion, group consultation. Visit the exhibition. Continuous analysis of the semester topic. The joint final presentation, reflection, evaluation.

Předmět navazuje na Ateliér fotografie 1 a prohlubuje teoretické znalosti i řemeslné dovednosti studentů na poli fotografické tvorby. Uvádí médium fotografie do širšího celospolečenského kontextu a představuje současné proudy myšlení o fotografii. Obraz je nahlížen jako politikum, které slouží určitým záměrům a vlivům. Reflektován je tedy nikoliv pouze styl a ověřené autority, nýbrž kontextuální situace způsobu pozorování, vytváření, zobrazování a šíření fotografií. Studenti jsou vedeni k dekódování této řeči a porozumění pozadí vizuálních stylů. Napříč semestrem je vedeno ústřední téma, na nějž se váže i autorský cyklus fotografií. Ve formování vlastního výrazu jsou zdůrazňované reflexivní a edukativní momenty, které vedou k sebeuvědomování a jež je možné aplikovat na školní výuku a výchovu k vizuální gramotnosti i společenské odpovědnosti. Úvodní setkání, kontext semestrálního tématu. Využití fotografického média ve školním prostředí. Edukativní rozměr semestrálního tématu. Fotografie jako nástroj reflexe. Prohlubování možností autorského výrazu. Komparace metod a stylů. Sociální, politický a mimoumělecký rozměr fotografie. Obraz jako moc. Genderové aspekty fotografie. Individuální konzultace tvůrčích výstupů. Průběžná společná diskuse, skupinová konzultace. Návštěva výstavy. Průběžná analýza semestrálního tématu. Společná závěrečná prezentace, reflexe, evaluace.
