The aim of the two-semester course is to create preconditions (terminology, poetics) for the systematic recognition of the specific qualities of literary literature in a wide range of its modalities (prose, poetry, drama; artistic and popular literature; and youth) and for meaningful communication about literary texts. The concept and style of teaching literary theory anticipates the needs of teaching practice. The seminars are interactive in nature, stimulate critical thinking and require active student participation. In particular, the ability to apply general knowledge to a specific material is practiced sensitively and thoughtfully. Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes: The course-unit credit is awarded on condition of having attended the seminar in the winter and summer semesters. During the exam, candidates should demonstrate the ability to clarify key theoretical problems and concepts (use them appropriately, exemplify them, etc.), describe the literary experience, describe and understand the text, formulate suitable themes for the text, characterize the literary work in summary.

Cílem dvousemestrového kurzu je vytvoření předpokladů (terminologie, poetika) pro systematické poznávání specifických kvalit literární slovesnosti v širokém spektru jejích modalit (próza, poezie, drama; literatura umělecká a populární; folklorní slovesnost, faktografická literatura, literární fantastika, literární komika, literatura pro děti a mládež) i pro smysluplnou komunikaci o literárních textech. Pojetí i styl výuky literární teorie předjímá potřeby učitelské praxe. Semináře mají interaktivní charakter, stimulují kritické myšlení a vyžaduje se aktivní účast studentů. Procvičuje se zejména schopnost citlivé a přemýšlivé aplikace obecných poznatků na konkrétní materiál. Předpokladem zkoušky je zápočet ze semináře v zimním i letním semestru. U zkoušky by měli uchazeči prokázat schopnost objasnit klíčové teoretické problémy a pojmy (vhodně je použít, doložit příkladem apod.), přiblížit literární zážitek, popsat a pochopit text, formulovat pro text vhodné náměty, souhrnně charakterizovat literární dílo.

Genre (1, 2): Reflection
Reasoning is not just a rhetorical exercise, but an intellectual effort with the knowledge of things to formulate problems and their more general context, to argue interestingly.It should have a comprehensive introduction and conclusion.
On topic 1: The purpose of the reasoning is an authentic, honest balance of the current state of your own literary reading experience with respect to its typological range. It may include, for example, key reading experiences, influences, selection criteria - tastes, extent and reading deficits in relation to different genres or periods of Czech, world, etc. Beware of escape stereotypes: Do not write biographical narrations ("fairy tales at first, then girl novels and now Kundera"), or just a commented list of books you´ve read. We recommend you to find inspirational literature such as A. Manguel´s History of Reading, J. Trávníček´s Do we read?, Readers and Internauts, M. Horníček Hymns (the first 3 essays evoking a reading experience); from ´Theory of literature for teachers´ especially the chapters Reader, Literary life, Literary literary, Function of literature, Value and evaluation.
On topic 2: The point is reflection on the basis of own experience, not a general overview of the curriculum. Try to combine the informative, evaluative, critical and / or informative components; conceptual and constructive.
Genre (3): Essay On topic 3: Essay differs from the reflective type of writing mainly in that it deals with the problem both professionally and at the same time readable - journalistic. The comprehensive introduction and conclusion, including interesting argumentation, of course also applies to this topic. There are two ways to do this: a) to discuss essential aspects / components of the interpretation of one literary work of your choice according to your own (!) Reading experience; or, b) to highlight and compare one aspect / component of interpretation across multiple literary works (eg. composition, concept of characters, genre inclusion, etc.). This work is ideally conceived as an intimate, subjective dialogue between the reader and the text.

Podmínkou zakončení předmětu je zápočet. Studenti jej získají na základě splnění tří následujících podmínek:
a) účast na online semináři;
b) plnění průběžných úkolů zadávaných vyučujícím během celého semestru;
c) zasláním interpretace/analýzy konkrétního (pokud možno ne příliš rozsáhlého) úryvku z českého uměleckého textu na základě vlastního výběru (může být próza, poezie i výsek z dramatu). Analýza/interpretace má vycházet z pěti výstižně naformulovaných otázek týkajících se zásadních literárně-teoretických problémů; student by měl čerpat z nabytých znalostí v oblasti literární teorie, získaných v průběhu ZS. Analýzu s otázkami (včetně zvoleného úryvku) je nutné zaslat do pátku 18. 12. 2020 ve wordovském dokumentu (samozřejmě spolu se zvoleným úryvkem), a to v rozsahu minimálně 2 normostran.
