Seminář navazuje na disciplínu Lexikologie a sémantika. Prohlubuje pohled na francouzské lexikum a doplňuje jej v tématech dosud méně probíraných, a to : francouzské idiomatické vazby, frazeologismy a ustrnulá slovní spojení; schopnost přesně a pregnantně se vyjádřit - využití synonymie u polysémických vazeb; aktuální trendy ve francouzské slovotvorbě a neologii, výpůjčky, vliv allofonních menšin žijících ve Francii na současnou slovní zásobu.
