Mission, aims and content of teaching of foreign languages, particularly French as a foreign language. New perspectives of the need of foreign language teaching, education to Europeanism. The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, The European Language Portfolio. Points of departure of didactics of foreign languages: Psychological - verbal and non-verbal communication, psychological determinants of acquisistion of foreign languages, psychology of teaching and acquisition of foreign languages from a teacher's and a students' perspective educational - principal factors of foreign language teaching, final profile of the teacher of foreign languages. Linguistic - intergrative tendency in the development of applied linguistics (C.R.E.D.I.F), description of language for the purposes of foreign language teaching, the question of inter-language transfer, Methodology and methodical trends in the history of foreign language teaching: Grammar-Translation Method, Direct Method, Transmission methods, Audio-Lingual Method, Audio-Visual Global and Structural Method, Communicative Approach.
