1. The beginnings of the Italian Renaissance and Nordic realism. The High Renaissance in Italy, the Late Renaissance - Mannerism and its European transformations. Renaissance in the Czech lands.

2. Beginnings of Italian Baroque and Flemish Baroque. Verism, Baroque Realism, Dynamic Baroque and Baroque Classicism. Distinctive locations of European and world Baroque art and architecture. Formation of local Czech Baroque in the Central European context. Renaissance and Baroque and their non-European overlaps.
