The course looks back at the phenomena analysed within the courses of English morphology and syntax, focusing on practising the key morphological and syntactic categories. The aim of the course is to establish a systematic overview of the chosen linguistic phenomena and provide a reasonable way these can be gradually presented at different levels of the school system. Topics: 1.The categories of Tense and Aspect in English and their Czech equivalents; 2.The multiple-word verbs in English – the system of prepositional and phrasal verbs; 3.Non-finite clauses, their place in the English language system and their equivalents in Czech; 4.The English punctuation – a brief overview.
