The aim of the course is the development of language skill with a particular attention paid to the development of presentation skills on C1-C2 level. The course focuses on the development of speaking with an emphasis put on accuracy, fluency, coherence and complexity of the spoken production. Themes: 1. comprehensive analysis of authentic examples of English journalism focused on summary and the ability to express one’s own opinion 2. comprehensive analysis of authentic examples of English journalism focused on collocations, phrasal verbs, idioms and abstract concept 3. monologue practice – development of individual verbal expression – structuring of presentation, the use of conjuncts and discourse markers 4. dialogue and discussion – development of argumentation, ability to react and communication strategies 4. development of active employment of selected grammar concepts – passive voice, modal verbs, alternative conditional structures
