The course is concerned with the issue of philosophical legacy of Jan Amos Komenský (Comenius). The main source is Jan Patočka's Comeniological Studies; attention will be paid also to other prominent representatives of philosophical comeniology (D. Mahnke, D. Eyževokyj, K. Schaller, R. Palouš, E. Schadel, etc.).

The place of Komenský in the history of European philosophy and the problem of his dual anchorage (in the philosophical tradition and in the upcoming new era). Components of Komenský's philosophy (metaphysics, gnoseology, ethics, philosophy of nature, political philosophy, philosophy of education). Philosophically-oriented pedagogy as an original contribution of Komenský to European thinking. Komenský's philosophy of non-violence. Historical changes in evaluation of Komenský as a significant thinker.
