A subject is propedeutic in nature and it is designed to form the basis for the system, neurobiological theoretical preparation of students in Doctoral Education in biology. Introduction and basic concepts, the molecular and cellular mechanisms of neural signaling, in particular membrane theory of bioelectric phenomena, membrane ion channels, ion the basics of resting membrane potential, action potential, ion the basics of myelination, the speed of conduction, bioelectrical currents and flow of current between the cells. Classification, distribution and function of individual types of glial cells. The basic principles of synaptic transmission. The structure of the neuromuscular connections, acetylcholine receptors, acetylcholinesterasa, the outpouring of acetylcholine. Presynaptic, postsynaptic and synaptic affecting the State of the synapse. Neurotransmitters, neuromodulators and their mechanism of action. Motoneurons, motor unit, spinal reflexes, motor pathways of the CNS, the brain stem, cerebellum, basal ganglia, neokortex, motor programs. The neural bases of the performance of the speech. Sleep, biorhythms, congenital forms of behaviour, unconditional reflexes, instincts, feeding, reproduction, memory, emotions, learning.

Provide basic oveview of neurobiology with respect to practical use of the knowledge in teaching biology and to deeper understanding cognitivie processes and learning of students.

9. Nerve basics for speech

10. Sleep and biorhythms, congenital forms of behaviour and learned behaviour

11. Memory, emotions, learning, sexual, social and agressive behavior.
