The aim of the course is to provide students with a fundamental knowledge of issues concerning ethics, and to explicate philosophical prerequisites of ethics and morality, the basic levels of moral reality, and the development of main ethical and philosophic-ethical categories. The course concerns with the development and changes of viewpoints of the good (in moral and ontological sense), the proportion of the good and the supreme good, and complexity and changes in receptiveness of the evil. It focuses on the question of position of freedom and free will in both ethical systems and human morality, and the interpretation of the function of conscience and its understanding. It explains the problems of moral normativity, and the role of public opinion and moral values in human behaviour. Finally, the course introduces the typologies of social ethics and various systems of distinguishing between different types of ethics.

Kurz je určen pro základní seznámení s etickou problematikou. Jeho záměrem je vysvětlit posluchačům filosofické předpoklady etiky a morálky, předvést základní roviny mravní skutečnosti a rozebrat podobu a vývoj hlavních etických a filosoficko-etických kategorií. Zabývá se vývojem a proměnami náhledů na dobro ve smyslu morálním a ontologickém, sleduje poměr dobra a nejvyššího dobra a složitost i proměny v chápání zla. Rozebírá otázky místa svobody a svobodné vůle v etických systémech i v morálce lidí a výkladem chápání a role svědomí. Tematizuje problémy mravní normativity, roli veřejného mínění a mravních hodnot v jednání lidí. Závěr kurzu představuje výklad různých systémů rozlišení etik a typologie etik sociálních.
