This subject is taught in Czech. The course is a continuation and develoment of Úvod do studia dějepisu I. In this part student learn especially about auxiliary historical disciplines and their practical use. Therefore students train reading of old texts, external and internal criticism of historical sources, their datation and structure, etc. The essay at the end should teach the student how to work independently and how to handle a given topic. There are short excursions to archives and other institutions, too.

Seminář navazuje na Úvod do studia dějepisu I a rozvíjí jej. Pozornost je soustředěna na pomocné vědy historické a jejich praktické využití při odborné práci. Z tohoto důvodu se procvičují paleografické ukázky. Procvičována je vnitřní a vnější kritika pramene, jeho přesné datování, struktura, výpovědní hodnota heraldického materiálu. Na seminární práci se student učí "problematizovat" a zpravovat historické téma. V rámci semináře jsou organizovány exkurze (Národní knihovna, specializované archivní pracoviště, Národní galerie).
