The course focuses on drama and theatre techniques that can be used effectively in teaching English as a foreign language. In the role of actors, students experience a wide range of drama techniques ranging from improvisation activities/games to work with drama script. Towards the end of the course the students will rehearse and perform a short drama text (original or author text). Through reflecting on their experience and comparing it to their theory reading, the students become aware of the many possibilities of the approach and of the conditions for its successful exploitation.

Kurz se zaměřuje na možnosti zefektivnění výuky anglického jazyka využíváním postupů z tvořivé dramatiky a divadla. Studenti se v roli hráčů seznamují s řadou dramatických technik od improvizačních cvičení po práci s dramatickým textem. V závěru kurzu studenti zinscenují ve skupinách krátké úryvky z originálního nebo autorského dramatického textu a prezentují je před publikem. Cílem kurzu je dospět na základě vlastního prožitku, jeho reflexe a srovnání s informacemi z odborné literatury k vytvoření základního přehledu o tomto přístupu a o podmínkách jeho úspěšného zapojování do praxe.
