An Introduction to Statistics Key words: basic concepts, methods and goals of statistics. Displaying distributions in tables and graphs. Measures of central tendency and variability. Sampling and probability. The normal curve. An introduction to hypotheses testing: chi square test, correlation.

Anotace: Obsahem kursu je seznámit studenty se základními pojmy, metodami a cíli popisné a induktivní statistiky. Kurs je věnován zobrazení dat pomocí tabulek a grafů, mírám polohy a rozptýlenosti, základům teorie pravděpodobnosti, pořízení reprezentativního výběru, normálnímu rozdělení a základům testování hypotéz: chí-kvadrát testu a testu pro koeficient korelace.
