In the theoretical part, students master degree biology teacher is familiar with the general characteristics and stratigraphy of the Paleogene, Neogene and Quaternary. Become familiar with alternating climate changes, temperature fluctuations, fluctuations in sea level, the migration of organisms, changes in landforms and Quaternary extinctions of flora and fauna. In practice, practice the knowledge of Quaternary sediments and fossils and development of nature and human cultures during the Quaternary, with a focus on the Czech Republic.

1.- 2. Geologické a stratigrafické výmezení a charakteristika pliocénu a kvartéru (Teodoridis).

3- 5. Klimatické aspekty a oscilace během paleogénu a neogénu a kvartéru (Teodoridis, Andreska).

6-11. Vývoj bioty a migrace během paleogénu a neogénu a kvartéru s důrazem na konsolidaci recentní fyto- a zoogeografii Evropy a Asie (Teodoridis, Hrouda, Andreska, Řezníček, Hanel, Vančata).
