The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the largest and most influential English-language literature as it has developed over the course of the 20th century. The main attention will be spent on the tendencies of American literary production throughout the century (from modern Realism through Modernism to Post-modernism). In addition, the course will focus on ethnic literatures both within and outside the mainstream of American letters.
