The course introduces students to Modernism and the cultural plurality of 20th century British literature. Students develop their analytical and critical skills in comparing and evaluating a variety of texts during a period of marked technical and intellectual innovation.

Cílem kurzu je seznámení s kulturní pluralitou britské literatury 20. století. Kritická diskuse v seminářích předpokládá nejen nacházení souvislostí s předchozím vývojem v jednotlivých žánrech, ale integruje i některé základní podněty postmodernistické a poststrukturalistické teorie.
