This course, introduced in the first year of study points out the special characteristics of artistic literature. It aims at acquainting the students with basic literary terms and categories illustrated through close readings of literary texts taken from English and American literature, thus providing the foundations for future literary analysis.

Cílem kurzu zařazeného do 1. ročníku je charakterizovat specifika krásné literatury a seznámit studenty se základními literárněvědními termíny a kategoriemi, jež jsou ilustrovány na textech angloamerické literatury (krátké básně, povídky a úryvky literárních děl), což je předpokladem budoucí literární analýzy a interpretace.
