Based on the acquired knowledge of the segmental features of English, students continue with their study of the speech production processes, focusing on the suprasegmental phenomena of connected speech. In particular, the aspects of weak nad strong syllables, the syllable-timed rhythm, and intonation are introduced. Apart from these topics and further development of transcription skills, attention is given to the main differences between principal accents of English.
