The course aims at providing basic orientation in discourse analysis, with the following examples of topics: verbal communication - speaking and writing, speech acts, non-verbal communication. The knowledge is applied while working with authentic texts, the stress being put on practical use in a primary English language classroom.

Kurz si klade za cíl podat základní orientaci v analýze diskurzu, zabývá se tématy jako např. verbální komunikace - mluvená a psaná forma jazyka, neverbální vyjadřovací prostředky, řečové akty. Dále kurz poskytuje příležitost aplikovat poznatky na autentických textech s důrazem na praktické využití ve výuce anglického jazyka na 1. st. ZŠ.
