To present principles of statistical thinking, demonstrate applications of simple statistical methods by means of

real data analyses using computers. To show ideas of insurance mathematics and make them comprehensible at secondary schools.

Basic principles of mathematical statistics:

  • qualitative and quantitative variables, graphical representation,
  • characteristics of mean value and variability of data, quantiles,
  • correlation, regression line, time dependence, dependence of qualitative variables,
  • data anlysis using MS Excel.

Basics of insurance mathematics:

  • mortality tables,
  • basic of financial mathematics,
  • life insurance calculations.
