This seminar is allocated to MSc.-students and Ph.D.-students of the doctoral study branch I1 - Theoretical Computer Science. The goal of this advanced seminar is to get acquaint with the latest developments in the field of theoretical computer science. The contents of the seminar is the research and study of current journal articles and monographs, but we also expect both the MSc.-students and Ph.D.-students to present talks on their own results achieved so far.

Prepare students for scientific work: reading and writing papers, presenting results on lectures and conferences, preparing and managing grants.

Conditions to obtain the credits for the seminar are oral presentations during the semester and a written text summarizing the presented results.

The nature of this course excludes repetitive attempts to obtain the credits.

This seminar is allocated to MSc.-students and Ph.D.-students of the doctoral study branch I1 - Theoretical Computer Science. The goal of this advanced seminar is to get acquaint with the latest developments in the field of theoretical computer science. The contents of the seminar is the research and study of current journal articles and monographs and we expect both the MSc.-students and Ph.D.-students to present talks on their own results achieved so far. Throughout the seminar, we also plan to discuss common problems relevant (in particular) for Ph.D.-students, for example available sources of information, proposals of own research projects, possibilities for studies abroad etc. A condition to pass the exam is a written text summarizing the results presented in the talk and its own presentation.
