Study of the Earth’s dynamics requires advanced mathematical modeling of deformational and thermal processes occurring in the mantle and lithosphere. The students independently solve non-trivial geodynamics problems, such as thermal convection in 2d Cartesian box, viscoelastic response of the Earth to surface loading, evaluation of dynamic geoid and topography, etc.
