Video retrieval is a dynamically evolving area. In the course, new trends in interactive video retrieval are presented, with emphasis on video exploration given a known-item search task. During the practices, the signature-based video browser (the winning tool of the international video browser showdown) will be presented and extended. The best new extensions can be selected to compete in the video browser showdown competition.
