This lecture provides an introduction to computational neuroscience. Students will be introduced to the necessary biological background and then we will study how to model such biological substrate, primarily from an information processing perspective. We will study biological neural networks at the level of the synapse, the neuron, and entire neuronal circuits. One of the aims is also to teach students to navigate the neuroscience literature, and to introduce them to the range of possible applications of computational disciplines in this dynamically developing field. The exercise sess
