The focus of the seminar is the interpretation and critical discussion of scientific texts, especially in ecosystem ecology and biogeochemistry. The aim of the course is to develop active reading, discussion and presentation skills. Students regularly present a scientific text, followed by a common
discussion. Emphasis is put on the understanding of both broader theoretical context of the text, as well as the practical aspects of how science works. The course is open to all students with interest in environmental sciences.

Regular attendance (min 80%), presentation of scientific texts and active participation in discussion is required.

The course is taught in English.
