1) Formalise and informal approaches to environmental assessment (biological assessment, landscape assessment, C-B analysis, SWOT etc).

2) EIA - Environmental Impact Assessment, history, state of the art internationally and nationally, legal acts 244/92 and 100/2002, EU directive No. 85/337/EEC and No 97/11/EC, US NEPA, other international documents

3) Structure of an EIA process (generally and according to legislation in force), aims and role in decision making process, landscape and /or urban planning. Role of participating subjects and institutions (authorised persons, experts, municipalities, public, NGOs etc...).

5) Criteria for EIA application: screening and scoping. Lists of project subjected to EIA by law, transboundary assessment (Espoo convention).

6) Step-by-step EIA, practical techniques, methods, team building and organisation, case studies, examples

7) EIS - documentation - reports, compilation, information sources, length, content of an EIS.

8) Commenting on EIS (by duty by expertise, role of participating subjects).

9) Mitigation strategies, post auditing (post project monitoring), basic rules, examples, weak points.

10) "Environmental audits (EMS/EMAS), aims, scope, subjects involved ISO 14000 a ISO 9000.

11) EIA in the Czech Republic analysis of data /EIA information system) comparison with international experience.

12) Research project - presentation, discussion and evaluation
