1. Types of pollutants and sources of pollution; overview of remediation techniques according to the type of pollutants and principle, principles of biodegradation and applicable organisms
2. Microorganisms and decomposition of organic pollutants: biodegradation, biodegradability, aerobic degradation, anaerobic degradation, bioremediation, types of used microorganisms
3. Acclimation, detoxification, bioavailability, pollutant sorption, diffusion, sequestration, aging, influence of chemical structure on degradability
4. Principles of soil biodegradation: pollutant sorption, pollutant availability for microbial metabolism, pollutant immobilization, hydrophobic pollutants, biosurfactants
5. In situ bioremediation techniques: bioventing, enhanced bioremediation, phytoremediation, mycoremediation
6. In situ physico-chemical remediation techniques: chemical oxidation, electrokinetic separation, steam extraction of soil, solidification / stabilization; thermal decontamination
7. Ex situ bioremediation techniques: biopiles, composting, landfarming, slurry phase bioremediation
8. Ex situ physico-chemical remediation techniques: chemical extraction, chemical reduction / oxidation, dehalogenation, separation, solidification / stabilization; ex situ thermal remediation techniques: incineration, pyrolysis, thermal desorption
9. Decontamination of ground, surface and waste waters: In situ biological decontamination - enhanced bioremediation, natural attenuation, phytoremediation; Ex situ biological decontamination, bioreactors, wetlands
