Introduction - geological and physical principles, surface geology and geophysics under contemporary conditions.

Methodics - shallow seismics in reflection and refraction modifications, their scope and limitations, seismic instruments, seismic spreads. Seismic modelling.

Multilayered media - principal physical models, hodographs, crosspoint and possible data distortion.

Medium with a vertical velocity gradient - geological and physical conditions, hodographs, correction on weathering. Data processing and interpretation. Causes of data distortion.

Palmer s method - principle, ray shift effect removing.

Using of shallow seismics - ground-water table, study of the top of the bedrock, velocity vers, weathering and fracturing, landslides.

Seismic tomography. Seismic risk and shallow seismics. Field examples.
