In this course students learn the construction of 2-D graphs and 3-D surfaces as maps of isolines or wireframes. The exercises are based on Golden Software products Grapher and Surfer. The students learn the ways of preparing the presentations with MS PowerPoint and MS Word.

Creating a graph, different types of 2-D graphs, axes, plots, multiple axes, multiple plots, descriptive statistics, regression analysis, calculation within graph, graph formating.
Construction of grid based maps. The gridding methods, geostatistical approach, variogram analysis, grid file processing and analysis. Contour map, vector map, wireframe map, shaded relief map, image map. Boundaries and base maps. Creating cross sections.
The use of graphs and maps within the text editor.
