The excursion is focused on demonstration of some information from the courses on palaeobotany. Depending on the season and state of localites examples of different geological periods occurring in the Bohemian Massif are selected. Individual excursion days usually cover examples in the Lower Palaeozoic, Cretaceous and Tertiary.

The excursion days are focused on localities representing various periods of geological time. From all the days, one day Paleozoic localities are visited (usually in the Barrandian), one Mesozoic (Upper Cretaceous) and one Cenozoic (usually Tertiary in the north Bohemia). There will be general geological and palaeobotanical characteristics of relevant period, geological characteristics of the visited area and characteristics of the palaeobotany contents of the locality. The join part is followed by individual study, measures and sampling.
