Kurz nabízí souborný pohled na klima, jeho projevy, změny a historii. Zabývá se globálními cykly a na příkladech ukazuje
projevy klimatu v geologické historii. Kombinuje sedimentární, geochemický paleontologický záznam a uvádí příklady
velkých vymírání, extrémních klimatických podmínek v historie Země a popisuje glaciální cykly.

1. What is climate? Introduction to climate, definitions. Global Cycles.
3. Palaeontological witnesses. e.g. Leaf margin analyse, e.g. Rules of Bergmann & Allen, e.g. foraminifera coiling direction
4. Geochemical proxies. stable isotopes (C, O, Sr and what else can be used). TEX86 (TetraEther indeX of tetraethers with 86 carbon atoms), is an index developed by (Schouten et al., 2002) for determining sea surface temperature from marine sediments), etc.
5. Climate development in Earth History: Case studies. Snowball Earth (weathering and carbon cycle), Extinction Events, Glacial cycles, etc.
