The current academic year will be taught partly online in the Google Meet / Google Classroom environment due to the order of the PřFUK crisis staff and in accordance with epidemiological measures; scheduled time will be used.

During the semester, we will learn to use the most common teaching methods, techniques and strategies suitable for biology lessons, we will examine their advantages and disadvantages and evaluate their contribution to the practice of a biology teacher;
we will get acquainted with the preparation for the lesson of biology, the implementation of teaching management secondary schools;
we will remember textbooks approved by the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic for teaching natural history / biology at primary and secondary schools;
clarify terms: curriculum, learning task, teaching aids, etc .;
we will present the current situation of the Czech education system, the needs of education reform and the meaning of FEP (FEP = Framework Educational Program) for elementary and grammar schools;
we will look at strategical and curricular documents in the Czech Republic and the EU;
we will evaluate the position of the teacher in the 21st century and the importance of the teaching profession, online education and distance learning - the teacher's competence for distance learning as a supplement to full-time teaching and education of pupils;
we define the teacher-pupil relationship and teacher communication in relation to pedagogy and psychology;
last but not least, we will discuss the assessment of pupils' achievements and the assessment of science subjects both internationally and within the Czech Republic.

Requirements to the exam -

Type of examination - oral
Preparation time - 30 minutes
Expected testing time - 30 minutes

Students enroll for the exam for a selected date and time.

The exam:

- essay in the range of 6-10 pages (font size Times New Roman 12; 1.5 line spacing; page margins normal, ie top / bottom / left / right = 2.5 cm / 2.5 cm / 2.5 cm / 2,5cm) on a topic based on thematic areas, see below, until 15.11.2020 the topic of the essay sent by the teacher; the essay, including correctly cited literature (sources in Czech and English) will be sent by the teacher no later than 5 working days before the exam date;

- second part of the exam is preparation for lessons (including PP-presentation, worksheet, written work and proposal for group work, didactic games, excursion theme and laboratory work) on selected biological topics, which the student announces to the teacher by the end of November. The preparation includes the planned course of each phase of the lesson on the selected biological theme, organizational notes (intended aids, natural products or models, links to the website, timetable, theme and aim of the lesson, didactic resources, etc.). During the exam, the student draws a question with a particular teaching method or form, to which the lesson will be adjusted in detail within the preparation time. Preparations are submitted one week before the exam by the teacher or electronically min. 3 working days per email teaching as a word file.
