The course is focused on the application of small organic molecules as chiral catalysts for significant synthetic reactions and is complemented by a number of practical examples taken from the recent literature. Independent solving of synthetic problems by the students, based on the theoretical knowledge and skills acquired in this course, followed by lector’s critical comments and group discussions will be an integral part of the course.

Complete course materials will be handed out as a supplement to the lectures and tutorials.

1. Katalýza zahrnující enaminy jako intermediáty: Aldolova reakce, Mannichova reakce, alfa-funcionalizace karbonylových sloučenin, Michaelova adice.

 

2. Katalýza zahrnující iminiové ionty jako intermediáty: Cykloadice, Michaelova adice (adice na enony, epoxidace, Friede-Craftsova reakce, transferová hydrogenace, multikomponentní "domino" reakce).

 

3. Reakce s účastí vodíkových můstků a katalyzované Brønstedovými kyselinami: Michaelova adice, hydrokyanace, Mannichova reakce, aza-Henryho reakce, aza-Friedel-Craftsova reakce, Pictet-Spenglerova reakce, transferová hydrogenace, Morita-Baylis-Hillmanova reakce, Diels-Alderova reakce.

 

4. Katalýza Lewisovými bázemi: Allylace aldehydů, reakce aldolového typu, hydrokyanace, hydrosilylace.
