This course is devoted to fundamentals of physical chemistry of polymers and colloids. The conformational statistics of polymer chains, behavior of polymers in solutions and in the solid state and phase equilibria will be discussed and analyzed. Since "statistical thermodynamics" is an optional course only, its principles necessary for understanding the studied topics will be discussed briefly in the beginning of the course. English version for Erasmus students is in the form of consultations.
The course is usually deliver in English.

Exam Topics – Physical Chemistry of Macromolecules MC260P30

Three topics will be selected for each student:

(1) topic selected by the student; (2) Theory topic - randomly selected; (3) Experimental topic - randomly selected

After the selection, each student has 30min. for preparation, during which he/she can use any material - printed, internet, etc. After the preparation the student is expected to discuss each of his/her topics for about 10min. During this discussion the student can use lecture notes and own handwritten notes as visual aids. The examiner(s) may ask additional questions related to the topic.
