Enzyme classification and nomenclature. Methods of enzyme isolation. Methods of enzyme analysis. General kinetic principles, the steady state enzyme kinetics. Kinetics of enzyme reactions with one or more intermediates. Inhibition of enzyme reaction - pure and mixed inhibition types, inhibition by substrate. Two substrate reactions. Influence of pH and temperature on kinetics of enzyme reaction. Regulatory enzymes - allosteric enzymes, covalently modulated enzymes, isoenzymes. Mechanism of enzyme reactions (theory and hypothesis). Reaction mechanism of selected enzymes. Application of enzymes.
