The aim of the elective course is to give a concise information about the causes, origination, and methods of study of the structural and functional abnormalities that arise during prenatal development. A special reference will be given to detection and prevention of inborn defects in human population. The lectures are based on the concept of the basic developmental processes and risk assessment procedures dealing with environmental hazard. Practical part of the selective course will be focused on the induction of embryotoxicity phenomena in chick embryos, and analysis of selected cases provided by the teratology information service (CZTIS).

Cílem kurzu je podat ucelenou informaci o příčinách, mechanismech vzniku a metodách studia strukturálních i funkčních poruch vznikajících v období vývoje organismu, včetně jejich detekce a prevence v populaci. Přednášky budou vycházet z teorie vývojových procesů a jejich narušení a budou rovněž informovat o důsledcích a metodách stanovení rizik životního prostředí pro kvalitu reprodukce. Praktická část se soustředí na indukci projevů embryotoxicity na zárodku kuřete a na rozbor vybraných případů teratologické informační služby.
