Status of Fungi and their position in the Kingdoms of living nature, phylogeny of Fungi. The cell level: biology of the
fungus' cell, the comparative ultrastructure of Fungi, the membrane systems and transport, communication of
fungus' cell and environment. The organismal level: fungal thallus, dimorphism and pleomorphism in fungi,
dikaryotic fungi, expression of sexuality, sexual and asexual reproduction, conidiogenesis. Physiology of the
nutrition, growth and reproduction. Genetics of sexual reproduction, genetic analysis of meiospores sets,
parasexual hybridization. Molecular taxonomy and DNA based identification. Genome structure. Moleuclar markers used. Databases. Analysis of environmental samples.
