Cíl předmětu

Seminář navazuje na cyklus přednášek věnovaných dějinám pozdní antiky. Společenské, politické, kulturní a náboženské tendence charakterizující toto období budou demonstrovány na vybraných ukázkách z děl pozdně antických autorů, především pohanských a křesťanských historiků. Úryvky z originálních textů budou čteny společně se studenty a budou na nich ukázány různé metody užívané k analýze a interpretaci písemných historických pramenů.
