The subject of the course is an introduction to the study of culture, especially from an anthropological perspective. The course will address not only the basic topics (language, cultural change, social constructivism, etc.), but will also focus on some specialized issues (drawing as a research tool, etc.). The course also includes an introduction to the use of ethnography as a research methodology. In the course, the lecturer builds on his field experience gained in New Guinea, the Philippines and India.
