Pharmacopoemiology is focused on therapeutic value of drugs after their introduction into the market - this is influenced by more experience obtained in clinical practice with real patients who do not respond to the sample from premarketing randomized clinical trials, as well as by behavior of various subjects - prescribing physicians, nurses, who administer the medicines, dispensing pharmacists, or patients taking the medicine. The subject deals with obtaining signals in a population, association and causality of the relationship between drug exposure and outcomes, as well as factors obtained from practice data affecting these outcomes. The importance of population databases (which can currently be used for such analyzes), pharmacovigilance of medication compliance and medication errors and drug-related problems are discussed. The sensitivity of pharmacoepidemiological studies is also discussed.
