The subject is concieved as theoretical and practical, describes the system of nursing care in the Czech republic (process, diagnosis, interventions), the patient needs and holistic approaches to health care. Part of the seminar is also training practical nursing skills on models.

THE COURSE IS CONCLUDED WITH CREDIT.

Before each seminar, the student is required to successfully complete the theoretical preparation for the given topic, including a test in the Moodle course: Basics for Patient Care.

Credit will be awarded for 100% participation in the seminars and successful completion of all partial tests during the semester.

1. The prevention and control of infection. Desinfection, asepsis, antisepsis, handwashing, masking, gowning, barrier technigue. Nursing care. Nursing process, diagnosis, interventions (Zámečníková 3)

2. Measuring vital signs
3. Administering medications (oral, topical). Oxygen therapy
4. Administering medication by injection (subcutaneous, intramuscular or intradermal).
