Anatomy and physiology of female, vital statistics, normal and pathological pregnancy, antenatal care, obstetrical examination, spontaneous labour, foetal malpositions and malpresentations, breech presentation, ultrasound examination, prenatal diagnosis of fetal malformations, antepartum hemorrhage, foetal distress, obstetric operations, acute obstetrics emergencies.

  3. Diagnosis of pregnancy. Complications of early pregnancy - early pregnancy loss, ectopic pregnancy. Prenatal diagnosis - ultrasound diagnosis management. Methods of pregnancy termination during 1st and 2nd trimester. (Kacerovská Musilová)
  4. Intrauterine fetal development. Stages of intrauterine fetal development, pregnancy duration, determination of gestational age. Placenta - the morphology, location, function. Fetal membranes, amniotic fluid. Obstetrics analgesia and anesthesia. (Gregor)
  5. Normal fetal lie, presentation, attitude, position. Fetal malposition and malpresentation - breech presentation, transverse, oblique and unstable lie. Obstetrics examination before and during labour - external and internal obstetric examination, external examination of the pelvis.   8. Abnormalities of 3 rd stage of labour, uterine atony. Perineal tear. Peripartal haemorrhage. Amniotic fluid embolism. Tromboembolism in pregnancy and in labour. Pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, HELLP. (Stráník )

  1. Assisted vaginal delivery (vacuum extraction, forceps) - indications, requirements, technique, complications, hands-on training. Breech presentation and multiple pregnancy - management of labour, phantom training.
  2. Assessment of fetal well-being. Cardiotocography - theory, presentation and analysis of particular cases. ST waveform analysis. Fetal pulse oximetry.
  3. Normal labour - stages of labour, mechanism and management, hands-on training, phantom training, DVD.
  4. Caesarean section - indications, technique, DVD. Female sterilisation.
  5. Antepartum and postpartum haemorrhage. Case report.
  6. Prenatal ultrasound diagnosis, screening of fetal abnormalities - theory, DVD.
